post no. 412 -- two weeks ago today.

it has taken me some time to figure out if i wanted to keep blogging or just throw in the towel all together. i decided after a good long absence i was ready to get back in the saddle. looking back at the last year plus of blogging and documenting our life has taught me a lot about myself and how buzz and i have grown as a couple and as individuals, and two weeks ago we set out on a new adventure worth documenting.

two weeks ago today buzz left pearl harbor for his second deployment. it was pretty bittersweet, i'm not going to lie, but with the support of the other lovely wives of buzz's shipmates i think we can do this. again.

so here's to two weeks down, many more to go, and lots of alcohol over the next several months.

  1. Wow, this really brings back memories to my dad deploying when we lived in Hawaii. He was on the USS Rathburne FF 1057. (I don't even know if it's still an actively commissioned ship)

Keep your chin up! I'm glad you have a support group with the other wives/families.

Glad to see you blogging again, I've missed your posts. :-)

  6. Oh, the joys of Navy life! Just think about how freaking awesome it is to see that big ship coming back home at the end. Nothing like a good ole' Navy homecoming to get my happy tears flowing. I'm a firm believer that when our men are gone, we have to treat ourselves right (more frequent pedicures, massages, girls nights out, clothes shopping, etc.) and above all, surround yourself with positive people and maintain a positive attitude. You can do it, and we're all here to help!
