post no. 332 -- a list for lately

been thinking about the road that lays ahead of us with next year's deployment. how all the planning in the world can still leave you unprepared for a new series of trials and tribulations, lessons, achievements, and memories.

been focusing on putting my house and home into order and developing a system that works for buzz and i. both design and function mixed in the with simplicity, and you might just have the perfect little combo for our home.

been missing family and friends scattered throughout the mainland, and wishing we could be home already for the holidays.

been having a lot of adhd moments between hair color, blog designs, the list really can go on forever on this one.

been excited to see how fast and long my hair is growing. i can't even begin to tell you guys how much time i have spent browsing through hair style pictures trying to find just the right look to take in to the hairdresser in a few weeks.

been fantasizing about becoming a stay at home wife and mother. having to close the door to the apartment while puppy eyes stare back at you in confusion is a bit disheartening day after day. one day i won't have to hear sad little simpers while i wait for the elevator. one day.

been looking through holiday party ideas on pinterest. ever since purchasing our new dining set i've been yearning for the fall holiday season to come around so i have an excuse to invite people over for a party. oktoberfest anyone?

been trying keep patience and focus as a header on my list of to dos. it's a lot harder than it looks, and sometimes forgotten when behind taxi vans on kalakaua, but it takes awhile to form habits, so i'm getting there.

been loving marriage and who i'm married to. whether he's listening to me talk about blog ideas and a new follower's blog i just checked out, or responding to e-mails instant message style from the ship on underways, i love that man. plus he always tells me dinner tastes amazing, even when it's frozen burritos.

what have you been up to lately?

  1. I love this!

I've never been through a deployment, but hopefully having your blog to get some thoughts out while he is away will help and get some encouragement from some online friends.

And your post about the puppy eyes staring back at you is so sad :( I hate leaving my little Emma when I go to work.

  2. It doesn't bother me as much when she barks and yells when I leave... but when she whimpers pathetically while I'm waiting for the elevator. That's when a little piece of my soul dies.

  3. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to have to travel so much for deployments and working in a travel-based career. I don't know if I could do it. I get really rooted to wherever I am.
