post no. 299 -- thursday's snapshot v. 3

today, i will not be posting a snapshot. i took about forty pictures {no exaggeration} and found something wrong with every one of them. and for the last couple of weeks, that has been happening each thursday without fail. so instead, i want to get real here for a little bit, about something that takes a toll on me from time to to, and has been popping it's ugly little head up more than ever. that ugly duckling is insecurity.

we all do it. we compare, being an aries, i think i probably do it more often than not. it's hard not to. i mean we see what's on tv, in magazines, we want to fit "that mold". i tear myself apart from time to time for not being feminine enough, for skipping a day {or four} between shaving my legs, and rarely changing my toe nail polish. i question kris' love for me {which deep down i know is constant}, but i doubt nonetheless. if he's disappointed i don't always look done up, if he'll think less of me for not being on top of certain things around the house. i'm insecure and i shouldn't be. you shouldn't be. we all should not be insecure.

"I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes. I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best." - Marilyn Monroe

so consider this post a pep talk, because you are beautiful. and you were made according to a plan, exactly how you were supposed to be. no ifs, ands, or buts. never question that.

You are altogether beautiful, my darling,
beautiful in every way. Song of Solomon 4:7 (NLT)

this will be the last thursday without a snapshot.

  1. I love this! You are right on - insecurity is ugly. It's sad, it's inappropriate. Everyone should know that they're the $hit! ;) In a humble way, of course....But seriously, I actually put a lot of effort into telling people how fabulous I think they are. Whether or not it helps, I don't know. But I believe that the more positive a person hears, the more likely their perception of themselves will be positive. Thanks for the awesome post today. :)
